OGL/D20 Tuesday, Feb 5 2008

It seems I can publish my work under the Open Gaming License, and have it compatible with the D20 system being advanced primarily by Wizards of the Coast.

I’m very interested in this, it means that I can use D20 structure to build on for my setting, as long as all open gaming content is clearly marked.  Anything I release under Open Gaming License becomes part of that license and anyone can use it as long as they are publishing under the OGL.  I’m not too worried about that, because I’m already releasing this under Creative Commons – anyone is free to use it and make derivative works as long as the source is attributed.

If anyone out there knows much about D20 and OGL, please feel free to comment or contact me – I want to figure out how they work together, and how to best release this.  For now, see the copyright notice in the About the Setting page.

More to come as it comes to me.

Updates 04/02 Tuesday, Feb 5 2008

I’ve added information on several towns.  I’ve also added information about the setting and my copyright for this material.  I’m researching what I’ll have to do to license this with the Open Gaming License and make it D20 compatible.  So far it is all my own work, and has no information that is OGL.

Updates to come as I come up with more information.  If you have any requests, feel free to leave comments.
